Ta Gaeilge Againn - Week 2
14th January 2022
This week we're learning about the placenames around Antrim, Ulster and Ireland.
Did you know that most placenames in Ireland are derived from the Irish language and many have similar pronunciations in both languages?
Placenames are usually based around townlands, and there are over 60,000 in Ireland, with around 1,700 in County Antrim alone, many of which tell the story of the unique history or geography of the area.
